Poetry has a potential to make its way into magazines. If you are looking at literary magazines that are normally printed in universities, schools or colleges, then you could send your poetry to them and ask them to print it for you. It is even better if the subject of the magazine is in line with your poetry, but you can use it as an insert as well. This would work as well, because after reading something that is educational or serious, one gets to read this little script of a poem. And it could make you feel light, and see the world in different colors. Life has different sides to it, and we must have an open mind. A poet can help us understand the seriousness of life in a simple way.

You also have some commercial books that include magazines like Readers Digest, where you can send your poems. Sometimes you even get paid, if you agree to write for them regularly. These books have a mix of all kinds of articles. Poems are like a breath of fresh air.

Never ever agree to people or any publisher who asks you to pay for your poetry to be published, they are definitely bogus. Your poetry is of value. And you know that you have delivered well. So, don’t compromise. Be bold and push for your poetry to be published as a work of talent, where you should get paid.

If your poetry is, for example, on women or on love, then you could insert them in a woman’s magazine or a general type of magazine. Poetry speaks to a wide section of people, and it is not only for the elderly or literary experts. There is a lot of poetry that is easy for us to understand and feel. Imagine how much more meaningful a magazine would be and how much more enjoyable it would be to read, when poetries are published in it.

Magazines often contain lots of useful information about just about everything. Women’s magazines include topics such as how to shop frugally, weight loss tips, fashion, recipes, health and relationship advice, and so much more. Some women wouldn’t dare miss a single issue of their favorite magazine, because of all the useful information that can be put to use in their everyday lives. Many men feel just as strongly about magazines that were created for them, as well. Financial planning, credit rebuilding, bodybuilding, and relationships are some of the topics that interest men and are included in the publications geared toward them. Some men also enjoy magazines such as Playboy or Penthouse, which contain adult content, not suitable for those under 18. The children’s magazines out there can’t be forgotten, either. These specially-created publications are geared towards enriching children’s educations, but in a fun way. Most children who read these particular magazines don’t even realize that they’re learning. All they know is that they’re having a good time. Magazines for younger readers contain easy-to-read and entertaining stories, pictures to connect dots from number to number, and other exciting and educational activities.

It’s easy to subscribe to a magazine or magazines or your choice. A traditional way is by filling out the postage-paid post card that is usually included in each magazine. Sometimes, though, this isn’t even the best way to save the most money. Usually online subscriptions offer the greatest deals, sometimes enabling readers to subscribe to numerous publications simultaneously, for one low price. This can be achieved by either going to the publication’s website, or by going to a magazine specifically geared at saving consumers money on subscriptions. There are many great sites to visit and save a great deal of money is: Some of these cool websites even offer convenient coupon centers that can save you even more cash. They’re easy to use; all you do is visit the coupon center to see which magazines are included, and you will be guided through each step. It makes subscribing to your favorite magazines easy and trouble-free.

The history of the magazine dates all the way back to the 1700’s when the aristocracy read periodicals that contained news of parliament, book lists and reviews, and social and political essays written by the foremost thinkers of the time. Only the rich could afford to purchase magazines and only the few educated people of the time had the skills to read them. By the 1830’s magazines were much less expensive and therefore available to the masses. Because they had a different target as their audience, popular themes for magazines included self improvement and personal enlightenment. After a while publishers began to realize that many people would buy magazines for their entertainment value and started printing interesting news stories and serializing horror, romance and fiction novels.

During the late 1800’s improvements to magazines came about through the process of better printing techniques. In 1870, printers experimented with better uses of color and were soon able to print adequate reproductions of famous paintings, so that the masses could enjoy what had been restricted to the upper classes for so long. In 1880 tremendous advances in the art of photography were made and soon it was possible for magazines to contain photographs. This opened people up to the things of the world they had never seen before. When publishers combined printed text with photographs, merchants saw the possibilities and suddenly the advertisements sections in magazines grew. What better way to sell a product than to have a description and a true to life photograph in your ad? With the turn of the century came better education. As more and more people were able to receive at least some form of education, more people were able to read and the demand for magazines grew in leaps and bounds. By the thirties, advertising in magazines hit a high mark, showing that the popularity of the medium had grown extensively. Soon publishers began to find niche markets from which to create unique magazines. Out of this movement grew the vast variety of specialty magazines available on the market today. For any hobby you can think of, there is at least one magazine dedicated to the pursuit of that form of entertainment. There are trade magazines geared toward just about every industry in existence. There are magazines geared for the interest of every age group, special interest group, and even many clubs and organizations.

Starting your own eZine can be a lot easier than you think. This is because in the most basic necessity, all you really need to get started publishing your own paperless newsletter are wealth of content, auto responder with broadcast feature, and a website (which is optional).

Content. You can compile weeks of content ahead in advance and slowly dispense them to your subscribers. For example, you can compile 100 short tips in one day and dispense 10 tips once a week. In other words, you can compile 10 weeks worth of content in just one day!

Auto responder. Your auto responder is your asset. You need an auto responder to send your mails and eZine issues to your subscribers and store your data base of people subscribed to your newsletter. Some recommended auto responders include GetResponse.com and aWeber.com.

Website. You may be surprised that this is actually an optional component. In short, there are eZine publishers publishing their newsletters without a website! But of course, having your own website can offer you tremendous advantages, such as the ability to bring in more subscribers and having your newsletter indexed in the top Search Engines.

These are the things you need to get started on publishing your own eZine at its bare minimum. Do not underestimate the little you need, though, because several eZine publishers today succeed well with only an auto responder and contents, with or without a website. And you can, too!
